Boys at play outdoors anchor this 1938 silkscreen, which asks visitors to keep an Ohio state park clean. Artists Lynn Root and Harry Clork produced it under the Works Progress Administration's poster program, and the Federal theater Project sponsored it. In the 1930s, federal crews were building and improving parks across the country, and a printed reminder like this was meant to protect those new facilities. A date stamp on the back reads October 18, 1938, which helps place the poster in time.
