This glass negative shows Theodore Roosevelt at a location the title gives as the Senate in Cambridge. The record gives no date, and the title comes from caption information the Bain News Service supplied that has not been verified, so the exact occasion and building remain open. Roosevelt, a Harvard graduate who served as the 26th president from 1901 to 1909, was a frequent subject of press photographers, and the Bain agency, based in New York, sold images of him to newspapers. Viewers should treat the Cambridge setting as the caption's claim rather than a settled fact.
