The only identifying detail for this glass negative is the name Hyo Togo, which the Bain News Service wrote on the negative or its caption card. The Library of Congress notes that this title has not been verified, so it is best treated as a lead rather than a confirmed identity. George Grantham Bain's agency supplied news pictures to newspapers from about 1900 into the early 1920s, and its glass negatives, often small and made for quick reproduction, document that fast-moving trade.
