Rather than a single player's moment, this print belongs to the gold-bordered T205 set of 1911, named for the thick gold frame around each portrait. The American Tobacco Company issued these cards and packed them with its cigarettes, a common promotion of the era meant to encourage repeat purchases. Collectors now value the set as a record of the players of the early 1910s. Library of Congress staff devised the title, so the individual player shown should be confirmed from the card's own printed details.
