Five men stand together in this glass negative, dated May 10, 1924, and the men remain unidentified. Library of Congress staff devised the title, so the record offers no names for them. The plate came to the Library as a 1947 gift from Herbert A. French and belongs to the National Photo Company Collection, the Washington, D.C., studio known for its wide record of city life and public events in the early twentieth century. Viewers may notice streaks and blemishes across the image, which come from the natural deterioration of the original emulsion coating.
