This poster has no picture at all, only a block of text urging men to join under the group system. Its numbered points argue that enlisting is simple and fair and relieves a man of responsibility, and they warn that local tribunals cannot advise anyone until he has joined the Army Reserve Section B in his group. Under the Derby Scheme, named for Lord Derby, men attested for service on the understanding that they would be called up later by group, and the poster urges enlisting before 11 December to qualify. Issued by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee, it reflects the government's effort to fill the ranks before compulsory service began in 1916.
