Anne Freud, the youngest child of Sigmund and Martha Freud, is the subject of this portrait, which comes from the Sigmund Freud Archives. Born in Vienna in 1895, she grew up in the family household there and later became a noted child psychoanalyst in her own right, founding the Hampstead Child Therapy Clinic in London with her longtime collaborator. The caption card carries no date, and its details are not independently verified, so the image is best read as a family record of the Freud circle rather than a dated document.
