The only identifying detail for this negative is its title, Cocrehan, which the Bain News Service recorded on the negative or its caption card. The library has not verified the name, and the record gives no date. George Grantham Bain started his news photo service in New York in the early twentieth century, and his staff sent pictures of public figures, performers, athletes and events to newspapers across the country. The glass negative was made in that working-press setting, so it likely shows a subject of news value from its day, but the exact occasion remains unknown. Researchers should treat the name as a lead to check against other sources, not as a settled identification.
