A large gold numeral 5 forms the centerpiece, with a gnome, a flute player, and a cat worked into its ornament. Decorative numerals like this were common in late nineteenth and early twentieth century printed ephemera, where a single digit could frame a whole scene for a card, an anniversary, or a table decoration. The folkloric figures reflect the period's fondness for gnomes and fairies, which explains why the board groups it with angels and fairies, even though its mood is more whimsical than devotional. The small figures and gold detailing reward a close look.
