Linked to the Boston National Historical Park listings, this three-masted vessel is most likely USS Constitution, shown moored in harbor. Launched in 1797, the frigate earned the nickname "Old Ironsides" during the War of 1812, when enemy cannon shot is said to have bounced off her oak hull. She remains a commissioned ship of the U.S. Navy and is the oldest warship afloat, so this photograph records a vessel that has outlasted nearly every rival of its era.
