The royal yacht *Osborne* took its name from Osborne House, Queen Victoria's seaside residence on the Isle of Wight, and the vessel carried the queen and her household on voyages around the English coast. This color print comes from a 1905 catalog issued by the Detroit Publishing Company, which sold photochrom views of England made by a process that added hand-applied color to photographic images. Its date, placed between about 1890 and 1900, falls within the last decade of the queen's long reign.
