Theater magic is a 1938 lithograph from an edition of 60, signed with initials on the printing stone and signed and dated in pencil. Its title points to the stage conjuror, a popular draw on American vaudeville and theater bills in the 1930s, when illusion acts and sleight-of-hand performers toured widely. The Library of Congress acquired the print by purchase with the Pennell fund, and Karen Beall's 1970 catalog of the library's American prints lists it.
