This French poster announces an exhibition at the Galerie Brunner under the title *Industries de guerre*, or "war industries," a phrase that in 1918 pointed straight at the country's wartime economy. France had turned much of its factory capacity to shells, rifles and other munitions, and the labor of women and other workers who filled those jobs became a visible part of national life. Printed in the last year of the war, the poster shows how the conflict had moved from the battlefield into the workshop and the gallery.
