For good order delivery use Railway Express Agency" is the slogan that sets this 1929 chromolithograph apart from other shipping posters of the decade. Printed in New York by Carey & Sons, the poster credits Robert E. Lee and shows workers lifting and loading packages onto trucks, a scene that reflects how the company moved freight by road as well as by rail. Railway Express Agency, a nationwide package express service, was then growing as motor trucks took over more local deliveries. The poster's bold color and clear message were typical of commercial advertising of the late 1920s.
