This 1936 silkscreen poster advertises an exhibition in New York, one of the many promotional sheets the Federal Art Project produced during the Depression. The Works Progress Administration, which later became the Work Projects Administration, employed artists in these years to create public art and cultural programs, and its poster workshops helped popularize the silkscreen process. A date stamp on the back, August 26, 1939, shows the sheet was still being handled after the agency's name changed. The record also associates the sculptor Maurice Glickman with the piece.
