This photoprint shows a Ford Model T, and its caption card dates it to 1915, though the card itself records no date and the data is unverified. The print came from the Ford News Bureau, the company's publicity office, which distributed photographs like this to newspapers and magazines. By 1915 the Model T had become the most widely owned automobile in America, helped by the moving assembly line Ford introduced at Highland Park in 1913, which cut production time and lowered prices. Publicity images of this kind were built to make the car look sturdy, practical and within reach of ordinary families.
