A bold color poster urging viewers to "Stop communism!" casts the fight against it as a shared civic duty tied to the defense of democracy. It was made sometime between 1920 and 1950, when the Philippines was under American sovereignty, first as a territory and from 1935 as a self-governing Commonwealth preparing for independence. Posters like this were meant to reach ordinary citizens, not only officials. Its appeal to "everybody" is worth noticing, since it presents democracy as a responsibility shared by all.
