The car in this 1903 view has a horse aboard, which sets it apart from the usual street scenes of Denver. The *Cherrelyn* was a horsecar, a streetcar pulled by horses or mules along tracks laid in the street. By 1903 most city lines had switched to electric or cable power, so a horse-drawn car was already becoming old-fashioned. The record does not say why the animal was riding on the car, but the picture offers a useful glimpse of the transition in urban transit.
