This 1945 Army poster names a specific aircraft, the B-29, and speaks directly to the viewer as a builder of it. The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was a very large long-range bomber that entered combat over Japan in 1944 and carried much of the air campaign against the Japanese home islands. Posters like this one were part of the wartime effort to connect ordinary factory and home-front work to the fighting overseas. Its title, which puts the reader inside the production effort, is worth noticing as a reflection of how the government tried to make war industry feel personal.
