This 1918 lithograph is notable for its French-language title, "Venez en aide au pays" ("Come to the aid of the country"), which addressed French-speaking Canadians as well as English speakers. It promotes Canada's war savings stamps, a low-cost way for ordinary people to lend money to the government during the First World War. The Canada Food Board appears as a sponsor, a reminder that wartime appeals for money and for food conservation were part of the same home-front effort.
