A child's mischief takes center stage in *Into Mischief*, a hand-colored lithograph published in New York by Currier & Ives at 152 Nassau Street around 1857. The firm produced large numbers of comic and sentimental prints like this one, colored by hand and sold cheaply to families who wanted affordable images for the home. Scenes of misbehaving children often reflected mid-century attitudes that treated childhood as a stage that needed guidance and correction. The print is listed as number 3361 in the Currier & Ives catalog raisonné, and its inclusion in the *American ABC* exhibition at the Cantor Center for Visual Arts shows that such everyday domestic scenes still hold interest.
