This lithograph stands out for its specific offer: buyers could join a partial payment plan and pay for Liberty Loan bonds in installments at any bank. The scheme was devised by the Christmas Club, a New York firm at 303 Hudson Street. Issued in 1917, after the United States entered the First World War that April, the poster reflects the government's need to finance the war through public borrowing, with Uncle Sam making the appeal in the familiar role of national symbol. The artist, H.F. Rawll, copyrighted the design that same year.
