The title, Feltualeir[?] plant, is a tentative reading written by the National Photo Company on the negative or its sleeve, and the name has not been verified, so the exact site remains uncertain. The negative dates from roughly 1910 to 1926, when the Washington, D.C.-based firm photographed commercial, civic and industrial subjects across the country. Herbert A. French gave it to the Library of Congress in 1947. The glass shows streaks and other blemishes from the natural deterioration of its original coating, which affects how the image reads in any copy made from it.
