This picture shows the International Showroom of the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company, a display space built to present the firm's bathroom and plumbing fixtures to buyers. Because the record describes it as a copy of an advertisement, the image was likely made to promote the company's products rather than to record daily business. Early twentieth-century manufacturers often staged showrooms like this to show how enameled tubs, basins, and fixtures would look in a finished home. The color transparency format suggests it was reproduced for printed material or projection.
