Designed by Frances Adams Halsted, this 1918 color lithograph appeals for the Third Liberty Loan under the words "Remember!" and "The flag of liberty - support it!" It urges Americans to buy U.S. government bonds. The Liberty Loans were the bond drives that helped pay for American participation in World War I, and each campaign asked ordinary citizens to lend money to the war effort. The poster's subject headings also name immigrants, suggesting that wartime organizers hoped to rally newcomers as well as native-born Americans.
