A glass negative of the inventor William Dubilier and his wife, the couple named in the title, one of the few pictures here that shows a private pairing rather than a public event. Dubilier made his name in radio and electrical engineering, most notably with mica capacitors and the condenser company he founded, which supplied parts for early wireless equipment. The Bain News Service, a New York picture agency, produced and distributed images like this for newspapers and magazines in the early twentieth century. The record offers no firm date and the names come from unverified caption information, so the sitters' identities should be treated as provisional.
