An advertisement for Universal's *Animated Weekly*, a newsreel the company distributed to theaters, shows a news cameraman at work as its central figure. The halftone was printed in *The Moving Picture World*, the trade weekly read by exhibitors and producers, in January 1914, when newsreels were becoming a regular part of the program alongside feature films. Ads like this one presented the newsreel photographer as a daring eyewitness, a selling point for both the publication and the theaters that showed the reels. The details come from an older caption card and have not been independently verified.
