Calvin Coolidge appears here with Dan McCuen, whom the title describes with a term that is now considered outdated. The record gives no date, and the caption information comes from the Bain News Service, whose notes on the negative have not been independently verified. Bain's agency sold photographs of politicians, celebrities and novelty subjects to newspapers from about 1899 into the early 1930s, so a meeting like this would have suited the news pages of its day. Coolidge held the governorship of Massachusetts, the vice presidency and the presidency, so the sitting could date from any of those periods.
