Labeled "Wallace golf" and dated May 19, 1924, this glass negative comes from the National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., commercial studio that produced large numbers of views of the capital and its surroundings for sale as postcards and prints. The title is copied from data written on the negative or its sleeve and has not been independently verified, so the subject should be read as a golf-related scene from spring 1924. Natural deterioration of the original coating has left streaks and other blemishes across the plate. Herbert A. French donated the negative in 1947.
