A silkscreen poster from 1936 titled *Interior decoration*, signed only with the initials D.S., this piece was produced under the Federal Art Project, part of the Works Progress Administration. The WPA's poster division used silkscreen because it could turn out bold, flat-color designs cheaply in large runs, and posters like this one were typically used to announce community art classes, exhibitions, and other public programs during the Depression. The verso bears a date stamp of September 7, 1940, which shows the poster was still in circulation or on file several years after it was printed.
