Here we have a glass negative from March 8, 1929, labeled as a view of the Hoover Cabinet, the group of advisers and department heads who met with President Herbert Hoover, who had been inaugurated just days earlier on March 4. The National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., studio that documented government officials and public life in the early twentieth century, produced the image, and its glass plates were later donated to the Library of Congress. Because the record's title comes from information written on the negative sleeve and has not been independently verified, the exact sitters and setting are best treated as provisional.
