The only identifying detail here is the name "Brown Bros.," a label the Bain News Service recorded on the negative or its caption card, and the record does not verify it. Brown Brothers was a New York private banking and investment house with roots in the early nineteenth century, so the name most likely refers to the firm or one of its offices. The Bain News Service was a New York picture agency that supplied news photographs to newspapers and magazines in the early twentieth century, and its glass negatives, like this one, were made in sizes up to 5 by 7 inches.
