Taylor's Opera House stood on South Broad Street near Warren Street in Trenton, New Jersey, placing it in the city's downtown core. This ink drawing, held in the Library of Congress's architectural and engineering collection and dated around 1920, records the building during years when opera houses across the state were increasingly showing motion pictures alongside live vaudeville and touring plays. Its subject headings tie it to the 1910 to 1930 period, when many such halls were adapting to new entertainment tastes. The drawing is worth comparing with period photographs and newspaper notices to see how the building's street front served its audiences.
