The title on this glass negative names a "McNulty" in Cleveland in 1924, though the Library of Congress notes that the label comes from unverified data supplied by the National Photo Company, so the subject's identity should be read as provisional. The National Photo Company worked across American cities in the early 20th century, producing commercial and documentary views that now form a large part of the Library's holdings. Herbert A. French gave the negative to the Library in 1947. The record also warns of streaks and other blemishes caused by the natural breakdown of the original emulsion, which is worth keeping in mind when looking at the image's tonal detail.
