The only identifying detail here is the name Chamlee, given for a man posed inside an automobile, and the Bain News Service's own title notes are unverified. Bain was a New York press photographer whose wire-photo business produced tens of thousands of glass negatives, many from the 1900s through the 1920s, when the motorcar was shifting from novelty to everyday transport. The picture is undated, so its occasion is unknown, but the car's open body and the formal posing typical of press portraits of the period are worth a closer look.
