The title, *The real trouble will come with the wake*, suggests a cartoon about the aftermath of a celebration, and the record places it in *Puck* on August 15, 1900. Joseph Keppler, a Vienna-born caricaturist, co-founded *Puck* with Adolph Schwarzmann in 1876 and made it one of the most influential satirical weeklies in the country. Because Keppler died in 1894, the 1900 date likely reflects a later printing or reproduction of his work. The cartoon appeared during the presidential campaign season, when the magazine's color lithographs often commented on politics.
