Yonkers, New York, is the setting for this glass negative, which shows Theodore Roosevelt speaking outdoors in October 1910. By then Roosevelt had left the presidency for more than a year and was traveling the country on the speaking circuit, pressing his Progressive views ahead of the midterm elections. The picture comes from the George Grantham Bain Collection, made by a news photography service that supplied images to newspapers. The title is taken from the negative's original data and has not been independently verified, so the exact occasion remains uncertain.
