Jenny Lind's name leads this 1851 sheet music cover, which ties the Swedish soprano to the parlor ballad "Home, Sweet Home" during her American tour. Promoted by P. T. Barnum, Lind drew large crowds across the country from 1850 to 1852, and publishers quickly issued songs linked to her. The lithograph was made by S. W. Chandler & Bro. at 204 Washington Street in Boston, and its domestic scene shows music being made at home. It is worth noticing how the print brings a concert-hall celebrity into the everyday household, where piano songs were shared among family and friends.
