Three men named in the title, William B. McKelden, J.H. Taylor and Roy C. Clark, are identified here as fingerprint experts in this March 10, 1926 glass negative. The names come from data supplied by the National Photo Company and have not been independently verified. Fingerprint identification was becoming a standard tool of American policing in the 1920s, and the FBI's identification division was established in 1924, so these men worked in a growing professional field. The negative entered the Library of Congress as a 1947 gift from Herbert A. French and shows the streaks and blemishes common to aging glass coatings.
