Caniff's Steve Canyon strip carried this 1963 installment, whose Spanish-language caption, "Permítame presentar a la Señorita," translates to "Allow me to introduce Miss Cheetah." The line is a stock showman's introduction, and the subjects assigned to the drawing, burlesque, seduction, and relations between the sexes, reflect the adult tone Caniff brought to the strip in the 1960s. The original art was made in ink and white-out over pencil, with paste-ons added by hand, a method that let the artist revise and insert elements before the strip was reproduced. The drawing was later shown in the Library of Congress exhibition *The Art of the Comic Strip* and in a 1990 touring show of comics history at a children's museum.
