This poster presents the federal exhibition buildings at the Century of Progress International Exposition, the Chicago world's fair that ran along the lakefront in 1933 and 1934. Its design, with the group of buildings set out as a single architectural subject, reflects how the fair organized its displays around showcase structures. The fair marked a century since Chicago's founding as a city and drew large crowds during the Depression, with its streamlined modern architecture presenting a hopeful view of technology and national progress. Chicago firm W.L. Stensgaard & Associates produced the screen print, one of many promotional posters that carried the fair's image across the country.
