Numbered fourth in a series, this portrait is titled simply "Miss Doro," and the record does not say who she was beyond that name. It dates to about 1902 and was copyrighted by the Burr McIntosh Studio, a New York portrait business associated with the actor Burr McIntosh, whose sitters often included stage performers and society figures of the day. Studio portraits like this were commonly issued in numbered sets and distributed as prints or cards to admirers and clients. The caption card's subject tags describe it only as a women's portrait from 1902, so the sitter's identity and the rest of the series call for further research.
