Here the horse is not a living animal but the hollow wooden figure the Greeks left outside Troy to trick its defenders, which sets this print apart from the other horse subjects on the board. The story comes mainly from Virgil's *Aeneid*, where the Greeks feign retreat, the Trojans drag the gift inside their walls, and armed men later emerge from its belly at night. Dated 1488, the woodcut comes from the early decades of printing, when illustrated books were turning classical legends into pictures for readers who could not easily see the ancient texts themselves.
