Göring is shown riding in a car at the opening of an automobile exhibition, with the record dating the event to February 18, 1938. By then Göring held several senior posts in the Nazi government, including control of the Four-Year Plan, and he appeared at such public events to lend the regime's weight to its push for motorization.
