This color lithograph announces a production of *Hamlet* starring Robert B. Mantell, the Scottish-born actor who built a long career on Shakespearean tragedy in the United States. Printed in New York around 1890, the poster reflects the era's touring theater system, when star actors carried their productions from city to city and relied on large, eye-catching posters to draw audiences. The Seer Print. firm, which produced many such theatrical posters, shows how commercial lithography helped turn the stage into a mass-market spectacle.
