Christmas Station" is a Thomas Nast engraving that appeared as a plate in *Christmas Drawings for the Human Race*, a collection of his holiday illustrations published by Harper & Brothers in New York. The book first came out around 1889, and this print is generally dated to 1890. Nast, the German-born cartoonist best known for his political work in *Harper's Weekly*, also did much to shape the modern picture of Santa Claus, and this plate's subject headings reflect that festive focus. The crisp engraved line that carried his drawings to a wide readership is worth noticing here.
