The record names a naval parade but gives no place or date, and the title is unverified, taken from notes the Bain News Service made on its negatives or caption cards. Parades of sailors in dress whites were a common sight in American cities in the early 1900s, with marching crews, brass bands, and crowds packed along the streets. The Bain News Service, a New York photo agency founded by George Grantham Bain, sold such scenes to newspapers, and its glass negatives document the busy news trade of that era.
