Two working figures, a cowboy and a steel worker, share the frame in this photograph of a pair of WPA murals, which sets it apart from the other industry images on this board. The Works Progress Administration employed artists during the 1930s to decorate public buildings, and the caption card credits the design to Victor Armantoff, spelled that way on the card. The card gives no date, so the exact year of the photograph is uncertain. Still, the pairing of a range-riding cowboy with an industrial laborer reflects the era's effort to portray American work across its many regional occupations.
