Everett, the borough in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, sat in a valley of the Allegheny foothills in 1905, where its economy rested on farming, timber, and the rail lines that carried those goods out of the surrounding hills. Like many small mountain boroughs of the period, it depended on the seasonal traffic and trade that moved through the wider county, and residents knew their town as a stop on the route between the farms and markets of the Juniata watershed. The nearby Bedford Springs resort, a well-known summer destination for travelers from the East, shaped the region's reputation and drew visitors who passed through local towns. A map drawn that year records the streets, churches, and commercial buildings of a community whose daily life centered on its main street, its schools, and the scheduled arrival of trains.

| Notes | An original bird's-eye view map of Everett, Pennsylvania, drawn in 1905. Bird's-eye view maps were drawn by travelling artists who walked a town street by street, sketching every building from an imagined vantage point in the air, then sold the finished lithograph door to door by subscription. Roughly five thousand American towns were recorded this way between the 1860s and the 1920s, and for many of them the panoramic map is the most complete picture of the place that survives.
