Stained glass from Paris, attributed in the caption to a maker recorded only as "H. Mural," is the focus of this interior view from the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The fair opened in Jackson Park in 1893 to mark the 400th anniversary of Columbus's arrival in the Americas, and its exhibition halls gathered decorative arts from many countries, including European glass studios showing windows and panels to American visitors. The record's details are unverified and date the photograph only to about 1893, so the exact maker and display arrangement remain uncertain.
